KITTS, Miles Brown, a Representative from Erie County; born in Summit Township, Erie County, Pa., April 24, 1880; attended, Waterford Academy; graduated, Northwest State Normal School (now Pennsylvania Western University, Edinboro), 1902; student, law offices of Marsh & Eaton and A. A. Freeman; public school teacher (1899-1901); public school principal (1902-1908); practicing attorney (1910); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1912 and 1914; resigned from the House, March 9, 1916; elected, mayor of Erie (1916-1924); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania State Senate by Special Election (1927-1932); elected as a Democrat, president judge, Common Pleas Court, Erie County (1935-1945); died, May 27, 1947 in Springfield Township, Erie County, Pennsylvania; interred, Waterford Cemetery, Waterford, Erie County, Pennsylvania.
