HOWARTH, William J., a Representative from Allegheny County; born, January 18, 1872 in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pa.; employed, Silgo Iron Mills and American Steel & Wine Mill; draughtsman, Allegheny County Deed Registry Office; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1914 and 1916; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1918); unsuccessful campaign, United States Congress (1918); died, June 12, 1931 in the city of San Diego, San Diego County, California; interred, South Side Cemetery, Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.
