HOLLAND, John Banks, a Representative from Washington County; born, South Fayette Township, Allegheny County, Pa., on September 17, 1844; attended, Bethel Academy; attended, Washington and Jefferson College; private, Company D, 149th Regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry (1863-1865, Civil War); teacher, Allegheny County public schools (1869-1882); farmer; auditor, Allegheny County (12 years); auditor, Cecil Township (12 years); elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Republican in 1908 and 1910; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1912); died, March 19, 1924 in Cecil Township, Washington County, Pennsylvania; interred, Venice Cemetery, McDonald, Washington County, Pennsylvania.
