HAYS, Morris Mills; a Representative from York County, born in Newberrytown, York County, Pa.,  September 13, 1841; attended, Millersville State Normal School (now Millersville University of Pennsylvania); school teacher (3 years); farmer; elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1883 term; not a candidate for reelection (1884); land surveyor; president, Farmers’ Fire Insurance Company of  Dover; reelected to the House for the 1901 term; not a candidate for reelection (1902); elected, justice of the peace, Newberry Township (1898-1900, 1905-1910); unsuccessful campaign, Pennsylvania State Senate (1918); died, December 23, 1919 in Newberrytown, York County, Pennsylvania; interred, Paddletown Cemetery, Newberrytown, York County, Pennsylvania.
