HARTSOCK, Samuel Gray, a Representative from Blair County; born, March 14, 1883 in Paradise (Port Matilda), Centre County, Pa.; attended, public schools; farmer; road worker; clerk, outside freight collector, Pennsylvania Railroad Company, Altoona (1906-1909); ticket clerk, Altoona passenger station, Pennsylvania Railroad Company (1909-1954); elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Republican in 1926; reelected and served 2 consecutive terms thereafter; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1932); elected, treasurer, Blair County (1956-1960); died, June 1, 1960 in Altoona, Blair County, Pennsylvania; interred, Grays Cemetery, Stormstown, Centre County, Pennsylvania.
