GRANSBACK, Henry, Sr., a Representative from Philadelphia County; born, January 16, 1836 in the city of Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pa.; private, Company C, 20th Regiment, Pennsylvania Emergency Militia (1862, Civil War); re-enlisted, Pennsylvania Emergency Militia (1863, Civil War); iron moldering trade (5 years); assistant assessor, Internal Revenue Department, Philadelphia (2 years); foundry and scrap iron business; elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Republican in 1894, 1896, and 1898; resigned from the House in May of 1900; elected, Pennsylvania State Senate (May 13, 1900-1906); reelected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1908, 1910, 1912, 1914, and 1916; died while in office, August 31, 1918 in the city of Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania; interred, Laurel Hill Cemetery, Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania.
