GALVIN, William J., a Representative from Schuylkill County; born in Swatara, Schuylkill County, Pa., April 16, 1862; coal miner; clerk and coal inspector, Lehigh Valley Railroad; salesman, wholesale cigar business; hotel proprietor; elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives to the 1901 term; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1902); appointed, field demonstrator, Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture (1905); died, June 5, 1942 in Plains Township, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania; interred, Sacred Heart Cemetery, Plains, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania.
