FOWLER, David, a Representative from Lackawanna County; born, May 14, 1878 in Wales; served, Battery H, United States Army (1898-1901, Spanish-American War); coal miner; insurance and real estate business; international organizer, United Mine Workers of America (1917); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives to the 1917 term and served 3 more consecutive terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1925 term; unsuccesful campaign, United States Congress (1924); international representative and financial agent, United Mine Workers of America (1920); Indian Territory organizer and president, United Mine Workers of America (1938-1960); died, January 27, 1970 in Muskogee, Muskogee County, Oklahoma; interred, Memorial Park Cemetery, Muskogee, Muskogee County, Oklahoma.
