ENBODY, Edwin Ruthven, a Representative from Carbon County; born in Mauch Chunk (now Jim Thorpe), Carbon County, Pa., October 11, 1844; graduated, Park Seminary; graduated, Dickinson Seminary (now Lycoming College); served, 34th Regiment, Pennsylvania National Guard (1862-1863, Civil War); clerk, Lehigh Coal and Navigation Company; chief bookkeeper, W.T. Carter and Company, coal shippers; employed, Lehigh Valley Railroad; superintended, Mauch Chunk Gas Company; superintendent, Mauch Chunk Water Company (1884-1912); elected, director, Mauch Chunk school board; elected, associate judge, Carbon County (1899-1904); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives to the 1911 term; died while in office, May 21, 1912 in Mauch Chunk (Jim Thorpe), Carbon County, Pennsylvania; interred, Mauch Chunk Cemetery, Jim Thorpe, Carbon County, Pennsylvania.
