ECKELS, Clark D., a Representative from Crawford County; born, December 16, 1858 in Greensville, Mercer County, Pa.; attended, Northwest State Normal School (now Pennsylvania Western University, Edinboro); attended, Allegheny College; printer; co-owner and co-publisher, Cambridge Springs News; school director, Cambridge Springs, Pa. (9 years); unsuccessful campaign, Pennsylvania House of Representatives (1898, 1900); elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Republican in 1902 and 1904; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1906); postmaster, United States Postal Service, Cambridge Springs (1911-1915); proprietor, printing shop, Erie; died, February 22, 1930 in Erie, Erie County, Pennsylvania; interred, Oakland Cemetery, Warren, Warren County, Pennsylvania.
