John M., a Representative from Butler County; born in Jackson Township, Mercer County, Pa., May 30, 1844; attended, Westminster College; graduated, Allegheny College, 1874; graduated, United Presbyterian Theological Seminary, 1880; elected, superintendent, Mercer County schools (1875-1878); pastor, Evans City Presbyterian Church; pastor, Mount Pleasant Presbyterian Church, Allegheny County; president, Evans City National Gas Company; postmaster, United States Postal Service, Trail, Pa. (1896); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1906; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1908); died, August 2, 1912 in Butler County, Pennsylvania; interred, Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Warrendale, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.
