DeHAAS, William Tell, a Representative from Clearfield County; born, August 1, 1856 in Liberty Township, Centre County, Pa.; educated in public schools; milling businessman (1879-1904); elected, register, recorder and clerk of the Orphans Court, Clearfield County (1905-1912); farmer; buyer and seller of fire clay and coal lands; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1920; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1922); died, April 14, 1936 in Sandy, Clearfield County, Pennsylvania; interred, Hillcrest Cemetery, Clearfield, Clearfield County, Pennsylvania.
