CARSON, John W., a Representative from Beaver County, born, April 30, 1857 in Bloomfield, Jefferson County, Oh.; businessman; cooper factory employee (1869-1883); studied law; reporter and advertising solicitor, Daily News, Youngstown; reporter, Daily Tribune and Daily Journal, Beaver Falls (1886-1898); correspondent, Pittsburgh newspapers; founder and publisher, Evening Journal (1888-1890); founder, editor and publisher, Beaver Falls Review (1897-1933); member, Beaver County Republican Committee; elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Republican in 1904 and 1906; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1908); unsuccessful campaign, Lieutenant Governor of Pennsylvania (1910); unsuccessful campaign, United States Congress (1910); unsuccessful campaign, Pennsylvania State Senate (1912); died, August 24, 1933 in Beaver Falls, Beaver County, Pennsylvania; interred, Beaver Falls Cemetery and Mausoleum, Beaver Falls, Beaver County, Pennsylvania.
