BOWMAN, Dr. John W., a Representative from Cumberland County; born in Wormleysburg, Cumberland County, Pa., December 20, 1846; attended, White Hall Academy; graduated, Jefferson Medical College (now Sidney Kimmel Medical College), 1877; physician, White Hall Soldiers’ Orphan School (1882-1890); medical examiner and physician, Cumberland Valley Railroad Company; surgeon, Northern Central Railroad Company; elected, school board, Riverton (3 years); elected, school board, Camp Hill (4 years); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1907 and 1909 terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House to the 1911 term; died, February 15, 1936 in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania; interred, Camp Hill Cemetery, Camp Hill, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania.
