BERGER, Jacob, a Representative from Schuylkill County; born in Coaldale, Schuylkill County, Pa., April 23, 1879; attended, Pierce’s Business College; coal miner, Lehigh Coal and Navigation Company; elected, school director, Coaldale (1917-1937); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives to the 1923 term; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1924); appointed, Board of Trustees, Ashland State Hospital (1925-1934); senior compensation field representative for Eastern Pennsylvania, Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry (1927-1934); clerk to the commissioners, Schuylkill County (1935-1943); died, January 24, 1943 in Coaldale, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania; interred, Odd Fellows Cemetery, Tamaqua, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania.
