ARMSTRONG, Charles Foster, a Representative from Armstrong County, born in Harmarville, Allegheny County, Pa., October 21, 1865; auditor, Pennsylvania Railroad Company (1881-1900); banker (1901-1920); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives to the 1919 term; reelected to serve 4 consecutive terms thereafter; resigned from the House, May 9, 1927; engaged, coal business; postmaster, United States Postal Service, Leechburg (1928-1930); appointed, commissioner, Pennsylvania Department of Insurance (1931-1934); unsuccessful campaign, Pennsylvania Lieutenant Governor (1930); died, February 4, 1934 in Harrisburg, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania; interred, Evergreen Cemetery, Leechburg, Armstrong County, Pennsylvania.
