ARENSBERG, Dr. Louis Frederick, a Representative from Fayette County; born, October 11, 1842 in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pa.; M.D., University of Michigan, 1867; private, Independent Battery F (Hampton's), Pennsylvania Light Artillery (1862-1865, Civil War); practiced medicine (1867-1885); elected, council, Pittsburgh; farmer; elected, school board president, Luzerne Township (12 years); Pomona Grange master (20 years); president, Southwestern Pennsylvania Mutual Fire Association (32 years); unsuccessful campaign, Pennsylvania House of Representatives (1898); elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Republican in 1900 and 1902; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1904); trustee, Pennsylvania Soldiers and Veterans Home, Erie; died, September 21, 1934 in Arensberg Station, Fayette County, Pennsylvania; interred, Allegheny Cemetery, Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.
