Speaker of the House.
Born August 30, 1820.
WRIGHT, RICHARDSON L., 4308 Frankford Avenue, Philadelphia, Pa. 1891.
Born in the Province of Ulster, Ireland; son of Robert Erskine Wright, of Tyrone, Ireland, and Mary Richardson Little, of Fermanagh, Ireland, who located first in St. John, New Brunswick; then to Philadelphia; brought by parents to this country during childhood; retired, formerly in mercantile pursuits; Speaker of the House of Representatives, and Senator; served many years in both branches of the Legislature of Pennsylvania; studied law under Chief Justice Read, but never practiced thereafter. He married Eleanor Elizabeth Roberts of Northern Liberties. For the past nineteen years a member of the Board of Public Education in Philadelphia by appointment of the Judges of the Courts.
