Reuben C Winslow

Born November 9, 1833, Winslow Station, Gaskill Township, Jefferson County; Winslow was the son of Joseph W. Winslow of Wicasset, Maine and Christina Long of Punxsutawney. The Senator’s American progenitor, Kenelin Winslow, arrived with the Mayflower’s second, 1629, voyage. Winslow attended common schools; read law with Phineas Jenks; and joined the bar in 1858. He remained in legal partnerships and private practice unil he died. He married Martha Drum of Punxsutawney in 1854. The senator was a cofounder of Mahoning Bank with Harry White of Indina, Pa.; President 1st National Bank; founder Punx Electric Light Co.; Punx Water Co., Died April 17, 1912.
