Born on November 8, 1941, in New Castle, Lawrence County, the son of Ralph and Mary Andrews, the Senator graduated from Mohawk Area H.S., 1959; College of Wooster (B.A.), 1963; Pitt Law School (L.L.B.), 1966; admitted to the state bar association, 1966; private law practice, 1966-1972; district attorney Lawrence County, 1970-1972; instructor, Youngstown State University, 1966-1968; winner of state and national awards, and a member of many civic, fraternal and professional associations. Andrews served in the state Senate, 1973-1980. Returned to law after legislative service and became a certified financial planner, a career lasting through his lifetime. He married Leslie Nord. Senator Andrews died on September 14, 2009, New Castle.
