David A Wilbert
Born Feb. 23, 1862, Mt. Washington Borough, Allegheny County, the son of Jacob and Elisabeth Wilbert, David was educated in Pittsburgh common schools and Pittsburgh Central High School. He and his brother entered the produce business in 1882, succeeding their father by 1888. David served as vice-chair of the Republican City Committee of Pittsburgh and was active in party politics before gaining an upper house seat for two terms, 1905 through Jan. 1912. The seat he occupied was that of the Magee family (Chris, William, and Charles). Senator Wilbert died in office (off year) on January 26, 1912, survived by his widow Josephine.
