Biography

1868 - 1922

Of Munhall, Allegheny County, born October 28, 1868, born in Pittsburgh to R.Q. and Sarah Jane Whitten; public schools; University of Pittsburgh; 28-year career in the steel business; consulting engineer Homestead Steel Works, R.W. Hunt and Co.; moved to Munhall, Allegheny County in 1897; thirteen years on Munhall Council, beginning 1898; member of the state House of Representatives, 1915-16; elected to the Senate, November 1916, serving one term and two years of another.  The senator died in office on March 17, 1922, and was interred in Allegheny Cemetery.
