Andrew Albright
Biography

Honorable Andrew Albright was the son of Andrew and Elizabeth Orth Albright, born at Lititz on February 28, 1770. By 1798, Andrew had moved to Lewisburg and opened a tavern and later served as Postmaster. In 1803, he was elected sheriff, and afterward moved to Sunbury and eventually settled on Eli Slifer’s farm at Upper Buffalo Creek. He was elected to the state House of Representatives, 1808-1810; served as county treasurer, 1812-1813; appointed associate judge, 1813-1818; and was elected to the state Senate, 1822. He died in November 1822, before he was seated. He married first, Miss Rahm, daughter of Melchior Rahm of Dauphin County; and married second, the mother of Mrs. John G. Youngman of Sunbury. He died on November 26, 1822.
