SWEENEY, Charles W., a Representative from Philadelphia County; born, September 9, 1905 in the City of Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pa.; graduated, St. Joseph’s High School; A.B., St. Joseph’s College; LL.D., Temple University Law School; attorney-at-law; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives by Special Election on April 28, 1936 to serve the remaining 1935 term; Sworn-In, May 4, 1936 and  reelected to the House serve the 1939 term; appointed, Joint State Government Commission (1939-1940); unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House for the 1937 term; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1941 term; died in June of 1973.
