STEWART, Joshua T., a Representative from Indiana County; born, August 22, 1862 in Buffington Township, Indiana County, Pa.; attended, Millersville State Normal School (now Millersville University of Pennsylvania); graduated, Indiana Normal School (now Indiana University of Pennsylvania), 1888; M.A., Ada University, Ohio; insurance agent; teacher; school superintendent, Indiana County (1899-1908); state deputy, Weights and Measures, Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture (1927-1934); elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Republican in 1934; reelected to the House in 1936 and 1938; died while in office, October 7, 1940 in Indiana, Indiana County, Pennsylvania; interred, Greenwood Cemetery, Indiana, Indiana County, Pennsylvania.
