STERLING, Philip, a Representative from Philadelphia County; born, April 10, 1887 in the City of Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pa.; graduated, Central High School, 1906; graduated, University of Pennsylvania, 1908; graduated, University of Pennsylvania Law School, 1910; lawyer, Sterling & Willing; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1917 term; reelected to the House for 8 consecutive terms thereafter; appointed, chair, Parole Commission (1927-1930); not a candidate for reelection to the House in the 1934 General election; died in January of 1972.
