SIMPSON, Richard Murray, a Representative from Huntingdon County; born, August 30, 1900 in the city of Huntingdon, Huntingdon County, Pa.; attended, Huntingdon High School; A.B., University of Pittsburgh, 1923; graduated, Georgetown Law School, 1942; private, 301st Company, Tank Corps, United States Army (1918, World War I); engaged, insurance business (1923-1937); unsuccessful campaign to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives (1932); elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Republican in 1934 and 1936; resigned from the House, May 11, 1937; elected, United States Congress (Special Election, May 11, 1937-1960); died while in office of Congress, January 7, 1960 in Bethesda, Montgomery County, Maryland; interred, Riverview Cemetery, city of Huntingdon, Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania.
