SHORTZ, Willard G., a Representative from Luzerne County; born in Kingston, Luzerne County, Pa., April 4, 1875; printer and mechanical superintendent, local newspaper; employee, Rehabilitation Bureau, Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry (1920-1925); insurance salesman; school director, Kingston (19 years); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1928; reelected and served 3 consecutive terms thereafter; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (1936, 1938); died, March 7, 1954 in Kingston, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania; interred, Forty Fort Cemetery, Forty Fort, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania.
