PIKE, Harold Carter, a Representative from Montgomery County; born in Cheltenham Village, Montgomery County, Pa., December 13, 1892; graduated, Cheltenham High School, 1910; reporter, Jenkintown Times Chronicle; writer, Philadelphia daily newspapers; secretary to the commissioners and Health Board, Cheltenham Township; Township manager, Cheltenham Township; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1919 and 1921 terms; unsuccessful campaign, Pennsylvania State Senate (1938); elected, commissioner, Cheltenham Township; reelected to the House in a Special Election on January 18, 1944; Sworn-In, February 10, 1944 to serve the remaining 1943 term; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1922, 1944); died, May 9, 1978 in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania; interred, Northwood Cemetery, Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania.
