PICKENS, Samuel Lincoln, a Representative from Clarion County; born in the city of  Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pa., May 10, 1872; served, United States Army (Spanish-American War); publisher, Marienville Express (6 years); manager, Clarion Republican; founder, Knox Herald; production manager, Pennsylvania Bureau of Publications (10 years); appointed, justice of the peace, East Brady, Clarion County; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1945 term and reelected to serve the 1947 term; appointed, Joint Legislative Committee on Retirement Systems and Laws (1947-1948); not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1949 term; died, July 30, 1950 in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania; interred, Clarion Cemetery, Clarion, Clarion County, Pennsylvania.
