PEALE, Sidney J., a Representative from Sullivan County; born in Eagles Mere, Sullivan County, Pa., July 13, 1894; graduated, Eagles Mere High School; B.S., electrical engineering, West Chester Normal School (now West Chester University of Pennsylvania); M.A., science, Bucknell University; lieutenant, United States Army (1917-1919, World War I); served, United States Army Reserve (1919-1929); assistant superintendent of maintenance, Pennsylvania State Highway Department (1930-1935); hotel proprietor; chief burgess, Eagles Mere Borough (1937); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives to the 1937 term (Sworn-In on December 1, 1936); reelected to serve the 1939 term; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House for the 1941 term; died, January 15, 1982 in Mechanicsburg, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania; interred, Eagles Mere Cemetery, Eagles Mere, Sullivan County, Pennsylvania.
