KEMP, William L., a Representative from Northumberland County; born in Shamokin, Northumberland County, Pa., February 27, 1920; attended, Bucknell University; first lieutenant, 692nd Airborne Machine Gun Battery, United States Army (1941-1946; World War II; 7 Battle Stars recipient); served, United States Army Reserve; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives to the 1947 term and served 2 consecutive terms; unsuccessful  campaign for reelection to the House in the 1950 General election; died, March 18, 1997 in Shamokin, Northumberland County, Pennsylvania.
