JACKSON, Walker Killingsworth, a Representative from Philadelphia County; born, October 6, 1886 in Chester, Chester County, SC; B.A., Brainerd Institute; M.A., Lincoln University; messenger, Office of the Treasurer, Philadelphia; member, Industrial Relations Bureau, Philadelphia (1919-1929); superintendent, Douglas Memorial Hospital (1929-1930); member, 30th Ward Republican Executive Committee; co-founder, Philadelphia Independent; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives to the 1935 term; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1937 term; unsuccessful campaign, city council, Philadelphia (1947); died, May 6, 1968 in Prospect Park, Delaware County, Pennsylvania; interred, Mount Lawn Cemetery, Sharon Hill, Delaware County, Pennsylvania.
