HOUGH, Edward M., a Representative from Allegheny County; born, Greensburg, Westmoreland County, Pa. on September 4, 1871; attended, Curry Institute of Pittsburgh; proprietor, Atlas Brick Company (1896-1932); elected, school board, Allegheny City (9 years); elected, select council, Allegheny City (2 years); elected, council, Pittsburgh; elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Republican in 1910; reelected to the House in 1916, 1918, and 1920; resigned from the House, April 28, 1921; reelected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Republican in 1932; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (1912, 1934); died, December 27, 1938 in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania; interred, Union Dale Cemetery, Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.
