HERING, John B., a Representative from Philadelphia County; born, November 23, 1901 in the city of Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pa.; attended, Finletter and Vaughan public schools; attended, Philadelphia Trades School; attended, Drexel (University) Institute; plumbing and heating contractor, Philip Hering & Sons; elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1936, 1940 and 1944; appointed, Joint Legislative Committee Re-Centralizing State Agencies in Philadelphia and Pittsburgh (1937-1938); appointed, Thomas Jefferson Bicentennial Commission (1941-1942); unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (1938, 1942); not a candidate for reelection to the House (1946); died, June 28, 1971 in the city of Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania; interred, Lawnview Cemetery, Rockledge, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.
