FRANK, James Calvin “Haps,” a Representative from Dauphin County; born in Harrisburg, Dauphin County, Pa., July 18, 1901; attended, Harrisburg Technical High School; attended, The Pennsylvania State (University) College; private, Governor’s Troop, Pennsylvania National Guard (1926); United States Army Reserves (1927-1942); major general, United States Army (1943-1945, World War II; Bronze Star and Purple Heart with Oak Leaf Clusters recipient); served, United States Army Reserves (36 years); elected, city council, Harrisburg (1933-1940); insurance agent; football coach, Dickinson College and Gettysburg College; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1949 term; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1951 term; unsuccessful campaign, United States Congress; unsuccessful campaign, mayor, Harrisburg; died, August 17, 1967 in Somers Point, Atlantic County, New Jersey; interred, Harrisburg Cemetery, Harrisburg, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania.
