CLENDENING, Robert J., a Representative from Delaware County; born in Washington, DC, April 24, 1914; attended, Upper Darby Township public schools; B.S., Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, 1937; sergeant, 80th Infantry Division, United States Army (1942-1945, World War II; Bronze Star recipient); insurance broker; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1949 term and reelected to serve the 1951 term; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1953 term; died, July 28, 1982 in Delaware County, Pennsylvania; interred, Arlington Cemetery, Drexel Hill, Delaware County, Pennsylvania.
