CHUDOFF, Earl, a Representative from Philadelphia County; born, November 16, 1907 in the city of Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pa.; graduated, Central High School; B.A and B.S., economics, Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, 1929; LL.B., University of Pittsburgh Law School, 1932; chief boatswain’s mate, United States Coast Guard Reserve (1942-1945, World War II); lawyer; building and loan examiner, Pennsylvania State Department of Banking (1936-1939); member, 32nd Ward Democratic Executive Committee; elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives to the 1941 term and served 3 more consecutive terms thereafter; appointed, Joint State Government Commission Sub-Committee on Tax Study (1945-1946); appointed, Joint Legislative Committee on Administrative Code (1947-1948); not a candidate for reelection to the House (1948); elected, United States Congress (1949-January 5, 1958); elected, judge, Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas (1958-1974); died, May 17, 1993 in the city of Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania; interred, Montefiore Cemetery, Jenkintown, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.
