BROWNFIELD, Harry J., a Representative from Fayette County; born, August 15, 1895 in South Union Township, Fayette County, Pa.; graduated, Uniontown High School, 1914; attended, Indiana State Teachers College (now Indiana University of Pennsylvania); B.S., University of Pittsburgh; served, Company A, 319th Infantry, United States Army (1918, World War I); teacher; school administrator, West Virginia University; elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Democrat in 1932; served 3 consecutive terms; appointed, Legislative Committee to Study the Public School System (1935-1936); not a candidate for reelection to the House (1938); assistant principal, Georges Township High School; superintendent, Fayette County schools (15 years); died, February 23, 1953 in Aspinwall, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania; interred, Mountain View Memorial Park, Uniontown, Fayette County, Pennsylvania.
