BEAR, Luther L., a Representative from York County; born in Zion View, Conewago Township, York County, Pa., December, 1898; graduated, York County Academy; graduated, Millersville State Teachers College (now Millersville University of Pennsylvania); served, Corps of Engineers, United States Army; farmer; teacher; constable, Conewago Township (4 years); employed, Pennsylvania Department of Highways; building and industrial inspector, Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry; elected, board president, Conewago Township School; secretary, The Western Mutual Fire Insurance Company; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives to serve the 1951 and 1953 terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1955 term; died, July 30, 1955.
