ACKERMANN, Harry Berger, a Representative from Allegheny County; born, August 19, 1882 in the city of Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pa.; attended, Central Manual Training School; field engineer, Hopkins Engineering Company, Philadelphia (1902-1905); engineering draftsman, Department of Property Assessors, City of Pittsburgh (1905-1910); secretary, treasurer, and manager of Zieger Flowers, Inc., Pittsburgh; chair, Republican Committee (20 years); elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Republican in 1938; not a candidate for reelection to the House in the 1940 General election; died, June 13, 1970 in Panama City, Bay County, Florida; interred, Brush Creek Cemetery, Irwin, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania.
