COLAFELLA, Nicholas Anthony, a Representative from Beaver County; born in West Aliquippa, Beaver County, Pa., January 13, 1939; graduated, Aliquippa High School, 1956; B.S., Youngstown University, 1962; M.Ed., Duquesne University, 1965; Ph.D., University of Pittsburgh, 1977; served, United States Navy (1956-1958); business teacher, Center High School; business teacher, Northwestern High School; director of evening education and business instructor, Community College of Beaver County; dean of continuing education and community service, Community College of Beaver County (1969-1980); unsuccessful campaign, United States Congress (1978); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1980; served 10 more consecutive terms; appointed, board, Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency (1983-2002); not a candidate for reelection to the House (2002); elected, delegate, Democratic National Convention (2004); appointed, Pennsylvania State Ethics Commission (2004-present).
