STANK, John F., a Representative from Northumberland County; born in Coal Township, Northumberland County, Pa., March 20, 1903; graduated, Coal Township High School, 1920; grocer; furniture store owner and manager; elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives to the 1933 term and served 12 consecutive terms; elected, Minority Whip (1949-1950); appointed, Joint Legislative Committee on State-Local Highway Financing (1945-1948); appointed, Joint Legislative Committee on Corporations and Cooperatives (1947-1948); unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House for the 1957 term; reelected to the House for the 1959, 1961 and 1963 terms; appointed, Commission on Interstate Cooperation (1955-1956, 1963-1964); not a candidate for reelection to the House the 1965 term; died, February 28, 1972 in Shamokin, Northumberland County, Pennsylvania; interred, Saint Edwards Cemetery, Coal Township, Northumberland County, Pennsylvania.
