PURNELL, Karl H., a Representative from Union County; born in Lewisburg, Union County, Pa., January 31, 1934; attended, College Jean-de-Brebeuf, Montreal; attended, Phillips Academy, Andover, Ma.; B.A., English, Harvard University, 1956; M.A., University of Pennsylvania; member, Young Republicans of Pennsylvania; news reporter, Harrisburg Patriot-News; publisher and editor, Union County Journal; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives to the 1963 and 1965 terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1967 term; newspaper reporter; founder, Teach the World Online; director, National Historic Theatre of Mifflinburg; died, April 14, 2020 in Pennsylvania.
