LOPRESTI, Philip, a Representative from Cambria County; born, May 2, 1906 in Chicago, Cook County, Il.; graduated, Johnstown High School, 1923; LL.B., University of Notre Dame; served, United States Army (1944-1945, World War II); State Department Judge Advocate, American Veterans of World War II (1950); elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Democrat in 1936 (Sworn-In on December 1, 1936); unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (1938); reelected to the House in 1950 and served 4 consecutive terms thereafter; elected, Majority Caucus Chair (1959-1960); appointed, Joint State Government Commission (1959-1960); not a candidate for reelection to the House (1960); died, July 3, 1989; interred, Saint Anthony Cemetery, Geistown, Cambria County, Pennsylvania.
