ELVEY, Harry M., a Representative from Fulton County; born, McConnellsburg, Fulton County, Pa. on December 22, 1910; attended, Fulton County public schools; attended, Ogontz College of Civil Defense; served, 6th Field Artillery Battery, United States Army (World War II); carpenter; gunsmith; clerk to the commissioners, Fulton County; elected, treasurer, Fulton County; member, State Republican Committee; elected, council president, McConnellsburg Borough (10 years); special waterways patrolman, Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission (30 years); elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Republican for the 1961 term, reelected to the House to serve the 1963 and 1965 terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1967 term; Chief Sergeant of Arms, Pennsylvania House of Representatives (1967-1968); died, February 17, 1983; interred, Union Cemetery, McConnellsburg, Fulton County, Pennsylvania.
