COUGHLIN, Robert Lawrence, a Representative from Montgomery County; born in Wilkes-Barre, Luzerne County, Pa., April 11, 1929; graduated, Hotchkiss School, 1946; A.B., Yale, 1950; M.B.A., Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration, 1954; LL.B, Temple University Evening School of Law, 1958; captain, United States Marine Corps (1950-1952, Korean War); attorney; manufacturer; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1965 term; elected, Pennsylvania State Senate (1967-1968); elected, United States Congress (1969-1993); died, November 30, 2001 in Matthews County, Virginia; interred, Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Arlington County, Virginia.
