COCHRAN, Harry, a Representative from Fayette County; born, Vanderbilt, Fayette County, Pa. on June 17, 1883; educated in public schools; superintendent, coke plant, Cochran Coal and Coke Company; director, First National Bank of Dawson; farmer and owner, Fairview Farms; elected, burgess, Dawson (3 years); elected, delegate, Democratic State Conventions (1908, 1910); elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Democrat in 1912, 1934, and 1940; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (1914); reelected to the House in a Special Election on May 21, 1946; Sworn-In, July 9, 1946 to serve the remaining 1945 term; reelected to the House for 5 consecutive terms thereafter; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1936, 1942, 1956); director, Gallatin National Bank; died, July 6, 1961 in Connellsville, Fayette County, Pennsylvania; interred, Cochran Cemetery, Dawson, Fayette County, Pennsylvania.
