Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University, 2005; consultant, United States Department of Defense; unsuccessful campaign for election, Pennsylvania House of Representatives (2004, 2006); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 2008, 2010, 2012 and 2014; resigned from the House prior to taking the oath of office, January 2, 2015; elected, United States Congress (2015-present).
