WHEATLEY, Jake, Jr., a Representative from Allegheny County; born in Detroit, Wayne County, Mi, in 1971; graduated, Osseo Senior High School, 1989; B.A., political science, North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, 1997; M.P.A., public administration, University of Pittsburgh, 2000; served, United States Marine Corps (1989-1992, Operation Desert Storm; Combat Action ribbon, National Defense Service medal, and the Kuwaiti Liberation medal recipient); senior associate for education, Coro Center for Civic Leadership (2001-2002); executive assistant, community affairs and research assistant, city of Pittsburgh; elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 2002; reelected to the House for 8 more consecutive terms; appointed, Legislative Budget and Finance Committee (2013-present); elected, delegate, Democratic National Convention (2004); Commonwealth Trustee, University of Pittsburgh (2016-present).
